Tarot Readings
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 09, 2019 at 03:44:21 PM

During the game various people will come to you asking for a tarot reading. Unlike some of the skills and magic services you offer Tarot uses no magic and is more of a skill than an ability. The witch uses a method to try and draw out what the user wants to hear and tries to adjust her drawing to match that as much as possible.

The Three Card Pull

In this world Witches perform a tarot reading known as three card pull, a set of cards are pulled from the deck, one of which is then chosen by the witch and laid down for the past, another set is then pulled, the witch choosing another one to represent the present and finally a third set is drawn, one of which is laid down to represent the future.

Mockup of tarot only, cards designs are placeholder only at this time, will be redesigned later.

The witch will explain what each one means as she does giving the client a glimpse into the different aspects to give them advise on what to do in the present or the future or occasionally giving them closure on the past. As time goes by you will need to learn what different people look for in order to give the best readings, as with most Witch services there is no set fee, but people tend to pay more when they feel the service was more successful or more accurate.

Unlocking More Cards

As you perform more tarot readings you will begin to understand the cards better, Tarot reading will have different experience levels within the game and as you progress you will unlock more cards for the past, present and future sets of cards allowing you to offer more variety of readings and potentially offer more accurate readings for different clients as well.

Design Rewards

We now have some additional Special Character Designs and Romance-able character design levels if anyone was considering those levels before they were initially sold out. So if interested in designing a character check the campaign out to choose a reward you might like.

As before a romance-able character allows you to design what the character looks like, their race, their personality and history, you also get design input on what there romance/intimate scene and events will be, you get to design a potion for the game AND will receive extra physical dakimakuras for these additional romance characters (currently three extra physical dakimakuras based on current design orders).

The romance-able characters, special characters and minor characters will all be designed as soon as the campaign ends.

Over 500% Funding!
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 08, 2019 at 02:28:32 PM

It has been one amazing day for the campaign, and we have now achieved another goal and hit an amazing milestone of 500% funding level.

This goal adds various creatures to the many locations you can explore in the wilderness.

The game will now include a range of different supernatural creatures to meet in the wilderness such as; Godkins, Eviloids, Elementals, Vampire Bats, Dragons, Wisps, Sylphs and more.

Next Goal Also Achieved!!!

Our next goal to be announced was for the £26k in funding, but we have already hit it, so the following content is already available for us as a new location to explore. Perhaps after speaking to a dragon you will learn of the Magical Obelisk.

Attempting to make the pilgrimage to the Obelisk will be difficult and possibly even dangerous, it could even lead to your death if you are not careful, but if you make it, it could well unlock additional powers for you to enjoy in the game.

Who knows what mysterious powers this obelisk could grant you or indeed who placed it in the wilderness in the first place.

Harem Event

Our next goal is at £28k and if achieved it will unlock the Harem Event for the game...

New Stretch Goal Reveals
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 08, 2019 at 02:04:30 PM

For those who have been here since the start, you know we have been releasing stretch goals in stages... With a batch announced in one go. Well we are getting close to completing the current set of goals and so it is time to reveal more that will come if we exceed the £30k funding level.

More details on each new goal will be provided as we get closer to achieving each one.

Crafting Talismans
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 08, 2019 at 02:04:19 PM

Talismans are crafted in a similar way to brewing potions, except they are crafted in a different room of the house, a special room created to amplify the essence taken from the Mushroom Grove into a physical manifestation of magic.

The Star Room is a common sight in any house or tower dedicated to one of the great magical professions in Ethermerial. Be it a Magi, Shaman, Sorcerer, Alchemist or a Witch, this room is where some powerful magics are performed. Each one of whom uses it in a different way.

Witches and Talismans

Talismans are considered to be the bread and butter of a Withes trade, they can be used to alter the perceptions of those who wear them, alter the environment around the wearer or alter other peoples perceptions of the wearer.

Talismans may often look creepy and dark, but there power cannot be denied. Which is why many adventurers of all types seek out Hedge Witches to create them these talismans even if the magic within them does not last forever (the stronger the talisman, or the more it is used the less time it lasts, before it breaks down into dust.)

Selling Talismans

One of the trickiest things to do when selling Talismans is working out how much to sell them for, as there is not community market place for such things, they are usually crafted and held, sometimes for weeks before a buyer appears.

And when it does come pricing it wrong could lead to you losing the sale or even losing money on the sale if they agree to a low price offer. Only time and experience will help in that regard though, though tips on this will be included in the Art & Guide book for the game.

A Relic Rumour

At present this is just a rumour, but there is tell of a relic that can be crafted from various magical ingredients and regular items that can make talismans a permanent affect and can be attuned to individual people; The Cursed Talisman Shrine.

End of Week 1
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 08, 2019 at 01:15:47 PM

Greetings all,

We are now hours away from the literal end of our first week of the campaign, and we have reached the impressive and amazing funding level of £20,000 (400%), unlocking a whole slew of awesome stretch goals, a series of Costume DLC packs and a variety of bonus physical and digital content for the main reward levels and the game.

With two weeks still to go it is still possible to raise even more funds and unlock even more stretch goals. And so it is time to look into some of the other aspects of the game and also discuss design reward levels for those interested in such possibilities.

Character Design Query

Before we discuss design rewards though, we want to ask you an important question, in order to determine how the secondary characters are created...

Secondary characters are the minor characters who appear in a game, in this case those who travel through the village looking to utilise the Witches various services. They might appear once a week or even less, but they are what help flesh out a world and make it feel more 'alive'.

There are effectively two options available to us to create them;

1. We create brand new characters with our artists.

2. We take existing characters from other games to edit.

It may seem the obvious answer is option 1, but let me take a moment to explain the differences between the two. Option 1 naturally means all the characters are unique, but each character is significantly more expensive.

Option 2 however means some characters will look familiar (from the Paradise game series), but this can be mitigated by changing their facial features, hair colour and hair style and naturally they will have all new outfits and personalities. This option is also significantly cheaper.

Put simply option 1 would mean we can maybe include 5-6 secondary characters, whereas option 2 would mean we could include as many as 20 or more secondary characters.

But this is an important aspect of the game, with the funding we have received so far, minor characters may be very important and so we didn't feel right making an arbitrary decision and want your input, as such please vote in the poll below to help us decide.

Strawpoll:  https://strawpoll.com/frbw62hr

We will announce the results later in the day.

In the meantime...

Add-ons & Specials

With the campaign progressing so well for us we will be including character design rewards once the above is decided (as that decision will determine the cost of those options), but we also felt it was time to give a reminder of the bonus content that has been unlocked for the game, in case you missed previous updates or are new to the campaign.

Costume Talisman DLC Packs

As part of our stretch goals, our backers had the opportunity to vote for which bonus DLC packs would be available for the game. These are mini DLC's that unlock new talisman recipes which when worn allow you to see different characters in different outfits.

Above are examples of one of the costume packs that were voted for by our community. There are six in total: Maid, Swimsuit, Lingerie, Slave Harem, Cat Girl & Burlesque. To receive these DLC packs you can pledge at the £80 or higher reward levels. Or for those at lower tiers you can simply add £12 to your current pledge. Each DLC pack will be sold for about £2.99 on Steam, giving you a discount by ordering the set via Kickstarter.

Art & Guide Book

The Art and Guide book of the campaign is also available either as part of the physical bundle levels, or as an add-on item at lower levels for +£40 (shipping fees charged later). To receive simply add that amount to your order and after the campaign shipping fees will be charged based on your location and all physical rewards selected.

The above is a mockup of the book, the final book will be at least 120 pages long, (longer as stretch goals are achieved unlocking more sections) and will include art from the game, guides to the game, histories of characters, stories and much more to aid you. The book itself will be a hardback book to ensure a great quality item.

Design a Potion

Last but not least we have also now added the option for players to design a potion to be included in the game, for an extra £15 added to your pledge and available to you at any level you can design a potion for inclusion in the game.

You will be able to choose the potion name and provide a description of what it does. We will then add this to the existing list of 99 recipes already in the game and ensure it has at least one use, possibly more depending on the description provided.

****

We thank you all for the support and look forward to the rest of the campaign, more details on the above can be found in previous updates and other physical add-ons and items are described on the main campaign page. More add-ons and specials may yet be unlocked in future updates as the campaign continues...
