Greetings all, before the main update I just want to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a great new year, and to help celebrate it we created this special edited Xmas edition of one of the Witches Brew art pieces...

Now on with the update... This one includes:

  • Fishing & More

Digital Rewards

This month we have included some more of the digital rewards of the campaign for our backers ready for when they are actually released. The items provided this month on Backerkit are:

  • The Alchemist Steam Key
  • The Alchemist Beta Steam Key
  • The Alchemist Wallpapers DLC Key
  • The Alchemist Emoticons DLC Key
  • The Alchemist Art & Guide Book DLC Key
  • The Alchemist Soundtrack DLC Key
  • Naked Digital Daki Download (see below for more details) 

We have provided all of these items so that all that is left are the remaining physical rewards (DVDs and Books) and the releasing of the finished games of course, and when those occur you all will have already received these items so you need not worry if you will retain access to them such as the Alchemist game (e.g. if we run a future campaign for Alchemist).

You can add the steam keys to your account immediately on steam, beta will go live as soon as the games are ready for that and we will inform of those in future updates. Whilst release keys will add the game to your library ready for when it is released. All DLC keys are release keys so you will be able to access them when the game and dlc is released.


Fishing & More

We have now completed alpha stage 2 as planned and this month we moved on to integrating the specially designed mini-game features into the game.  The first of which is Fishing.

During the game it will be possible to gain a fishing rod and eventually upgrade it.

Each upgrade granting you new fishing areas to visit as well as increased options when fishing.

Each time you go fishing, you will use up one time slot, but will be able to fish multiple times per session, based on your skill level in fishing which will increase the more you do it, or can be increased in other ways too.

This also means you can do multiple 'fishing sessions' in a single day and catch more and more fish, and the more you do the more you will progress along such things, the items you gain can be cooked and eaten for short bonuses, used in various crafting and brewing and also sold to merchants.

More Implementations...

In addition to fishing we have also now incorporated the basics of 'Tarot reading' into the game as well as 'Apprentice training', and beginning to implement passive earnings through the Apprentice to allow you to explore and experiment more and still earn an income (albeit slightly reduced), these three things are linked which is why we are working on them all together. 

You see Tarot reading is one of the services you offer to the townspeople to make money. It is also one of the skills you can teach your apprentice. And once she has learned this skill she can begin to perform this duty for you, freeing you up to have more time to explore, craft and ahem meet with the many women of the town for whatever you need to meet with them for...


Next Development: Combat

With Fishing and other parts mostly completed, we are now looking to finally start integrating the combat systems, with equip-able weapons.

As well as the various weapons and augments available and the stats and how they work. 

Our aim is to have this turn based combat system integrated fully by our next update. Hopefully.

After which we can then begin incorporating all of the different creatures and random events that appear within the wilderness and other areas so as to fill the wilderness with danger.

But also to give each area its own sense of interest, as different creatures will populate different areas of the great wilderness that surrounds Wilder village.


Background Sets

We now have more sets of completed Weather backgrounds to show off.

As before, we are continually adding these to the game in order to make the world you live is as real as possible and so that the world is not in perpetual sunshine either.


Nude Daki Rewards

Today I am happy to announce as noted nearer the top that we have completed all of the Nude Daki rewards, which as noted before are being provided as an alternative reward for those who were due to receive the Bonus Talisman/Outfit DLC packs for the two games.

Above is the taster of the nude dakis we posted last month, we wont be showcasing them all as that is solely for those who are due to receive them (there are 17 in total, all double sided), these packs have already been added to Backerkit for you to download directly from them. If we run a Kickstarter for Alchemist we may offer these as physical reward options as an incentive for those interested.


New Year Hiatus

This is just to advise that a number of people that work for us on this project as contractors, artists, writers and so on will be taking breaks over the new year period and in January, some because it is overdue and others because it is customary where they are from to do so.

As a result we will be taking a small hiatus from updates in January and returning in February, in February and onwards we will continue with the monthly developer diaries to keep you informed of the games progress as well as posting other updates in between to notify you of game and product releases in 2021.


Wrap Up

So another update comes to a close and with it another year, beta is looming ever closer and whilst 2020 has been filled with problems, game delays, developer issues, COVID-19 and a variety of other maladies I feel things are shaping up to make 2021 a year to remember, if only in comparison to 2020 (heh).  So try to forget your troubles, have a happy winter holiday and a great new year, and as noted above see you all again in February 2021 for our next dev diary.
